Birth Doula Support in New York City
Chandel Stallworth offers steady, personalized birth doula support for families in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Whether you're planning an unmedicated birth, an epidural, an induction, or a scheduled cesarean, her role is to help you feel informed, supported, and never alone.
Who this is for
Expecting families who want continuous, non-medical support through pregnancy and labor — including first-time parents, families preparing for a VBAC or induction, and those navigating high-risk pregnancies alongside their medical team.
What support includes
Birth packages (Nurture and Flourish) are built around the same core support, with more prenatal and postpartum time in the larger package:
- In-depth prenatal doula visits (virtual and in-person, depending on package)
- A birth preferences planning session
- 24/7 on-call support from 37 weeks onward
- Continuous labor and birth support
- Latching and feeding support, plus two weeks of virtual postpartum support
- Hospital bag prep guide and postpartum recovery planning
How movement shapes Chandel's support
Chandel's background as a Pilates instructor and Body Ready Method trained, pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise specialist informs how she supports you. The Flourish package includes a visit focused on Body Ready Method exercises, and in labor she can help you explore positions, breathing, and comfort measures that may support your comfort. Movement can't guarantee any particular birth outcome — it's one more tool for feeling connected to your body.
What to expect
It starts with a free consultation. From there, prenatal visits help you understand your options and prepare your birth preferences. Once you reach 37 weeks, Chandel is on call and joins you in labor, working alongside your care team in hospital, birth center, or home settings.
Questions families ask
Can a doula support me if I plan to get an epidural?
Yes. Chandel supports medicated births, unmedicated births, and planned cesareans. Her role is to support your choices.
Does a doula replace my partner?
No. A doula supports both you and your partner, helping your partner feel confident and stepping in when they need a break.
Is a doula the same as a midwife?
No. A midwife is a medical professional who provides clinical care. A doula is a non-medical support person focused on your comfort, advocacy, and continuous presence.
Doula support is non-medical and does not replace care from your licensed medical providers.
